10 Healthy And Frugal Party Snacks For Your Next Get-Together

Whether you’re planning a bridal shower, birthday party, or game night, party planning can get expensive, especially when it comes to planning food.

And, it’s often difficult to come up with party snacks that are budget-friendly but also relatively healthy. I helped coordinate and plan a bridal shower this past weekend, and that was one of our goals – to come up with a menu that was relatively healthy but also budget-minded.

Here is a list of a few of the great ideas I came up with for healthy and frugal party snacks!

Complete your next party with healthy party snacks that won’t break your budget!

1. Cucumber Sandwiches

These cucumber sandwiches are so light and refreshing. I opt for whole wheat bread when I make them to amp up the health factor a bit.

There are few things tastier than a yummy cucumber sandwich!

2. Fruit/Veggie Trays

Another great way to get a healthy snack in is to offer fruit and/or veggie trays.

These have been a hit at any party I’ve hosted and can be as simple or complex as you want.

I’d suggest cutting up the fruit yourself to save on your budget even more, but you can find some great precut options, too.

3. Chicken Salad Roll-Ups

These roll-ups are a different spin on the traditional chicken salad sandwich.

I love that you could even swap the regular tortilla for whole wheat or even spinach to pack even more nutritional punch in this tasty option.

Plus, when it’s cut up, the roll-ups are just bite-size – enough for a snack but not too much to break your nutritional budget.

4. Guacamole Stuffed Eggs

Your typical deviled egg can pack a lot of calories, so I love this healthier take on it. (Plus, guacamole is one of my favourite party snacks)

Avocado is great nutrition-filled food, so pairing that with a protein-filled egg is the perfect combo!

5. Grape Poppers

Forget cake poppers and try these grape poppers instead. I love this idea! I think I’d opt to coat them in either yoghurt or yoghurt coating, but I still love the concept!

6. Zucchini Pizza Bites

It’s true. Many parties aren’t complete unless there is pizza, but that doesn’t mean you have to opt for the high-calorie kind.

Try these zucchini bites instead, and save money and calories.

7. Zucchini Chips

Again, just because it’s a party doesn’t mean you have to run out and buy all the expensive, calorie-filled snacks. Try these zucchini chips instead of traditional chips.

They’re just as flavorful and have way more nutritional value.

8. Vanilla Fruit Salad

This fruit salad is a real crowd-pleaser. I’ve taken it several places, and it’s always a hit.

It’s fresh and light and perfect for a party!

9. Spinach Bites

These spinach bites are a great alternative to a traditional mozzarella cheese stick or another high-fat party snack.

Paired with some marinara, it’s a perfect party option!

10. Apple Nachos

Apple nachos are a great party snack!

A few cut up apples drizzled with some chocolate or peanut butter or both, and you have a great party option!

The next time you’re planning a party, remember you don’t have to break the budget or even do all of the traditional high-calorie, high-fat snacks.

Try one or all of these healthy and frugal party snacks the next time you’re hosting, and you’re sure to have happy guests.
